Special Announcement – Taekwondo Ontario Athlete Development Program (TOADP)
Taekwondo Ontario is happy to announce the Permanent spot fee has reduced to $350 for Kyorugi and $175 for Poomsae for Taekwondo Ontario Athlete Development Program (TOADP) for the 2017/2018 season, from November 2017 to June 2018.  Drop in fee remains the same, One day – $30 and Weekend – $40.
Take advantage of this opportunity and register now.  TOADP Permanent Spot Registration  Cadet Kyorugi kicks off this weekend, Saturday, November 25 and 26 - 12:30pm to 3:30pm.

ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Taekwondo Ontario is pleased to announce the launch of the Taekwondo Ontario Athlete Development Program (TOADP) at the Toronto Pan Am Centre (TPASC), a centralized training hub for Kyorugi and Poomsae athletes and coaches to train in a structure competitive environment with access to the home of many provincial sport programs and Canadian Sport Institute of Ontario (CSIO).

The Leading Change pilot project originally started by a cohort of Ontario coaches in spring 2017, where they envisioned a competitive training hub for Ontario athletes in preparation for the Calgary Nationals 2017, has now become the first provincial program for Taekwondo Ontario.      This program is intending to “lead change” for competition development in the Kyorugi and Poomsae streams for athletes in Cadet, Junior and Senior levels.

The TOADP will kick off on November 25 and 26, athletes may register in the link below.

ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Call for Coaches – Selection Criteria

Introduction:

  • Taekwondo Ontario (TO) is introducing the Athlete Development Program to provide Ontario Poomsae and Kyorugi athletes’ quality training and sparring partners in a competitive environment.
  • The North Room at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Cenrtre will be the location.
  • Training/sparring schedule will be based on a rotation of Cadets, Juniors and Seniors for both Poomsae and Kyorugi.

 

Objectives:

  • To provide multiple training and sparring opportunities for competitive athletes in Ontario across various clubs/programs.
  • To provide the opportunity for Ontario coaches to work with athletes in training and competition simulations. To network and collaborate with other coaches in Ontario.

 

Coach Eligibility:

  • NCCP Dojang Coach Certified
  • Current registered member of Taekwondo Ontario (TO) / Taekwondo Canada (TC)
  • Current registered member of Coaches of Canada (CAC)
  • Currently working with athletes in LTAD stages: Train to Train / Train to Compete – Cadet / Junior / Senior
  • Team Player
  • Positive coaching style
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Background check – Vulnerable sector or Coaching Association of Canada Professional Coach Designation (paid current year)
  • Code of Conduct

(2) The “Password” refers to the password you would like to use to setup your account. The functionality to login and manage your account has not yet been enabled but will be in the coming months.
(3) Citizenship, Birth Certificate and Passport information is NOT required for color belts or black belts under 18 years of age and is not a mandatory field at this time. As such, you can complete the application with uploading this information.

(3) Please bring your dobuk, pen/pencil, notebook, lunch.

 

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:
(1) The ONLY method of payment accepted for this seminar is in the form of a Money Order or Certified Cheque payable to “Ontario Taekwondo Association“. No cash or personal cheque payments will be accepted by the Course Conductor the morning of the seminar.
