Please be advised that in January 2013 NCCP accreditation will be required to coach at National Events. The OTA will be following their lead and phasing in mandatory NCCP training and certification for our coaches this upcoming season.

Evaluators in Ontario are available to conduct formal observations in the Assistant Instructor (teaching environment) and Dojang Coach (competition environment) contexts and complete your Certification process.

The OTA’s Referee Committee will be hosting a Referee Seminar on

April 14, 2012

It is a 2 day seminar; Day 1 – Theory & Day 2 – Practical Evaluation at an upcoming tournament. All applicants must be at least 13 years old, at least 2nd gup and a good standing member of the OTA. The committee will be running a Poomsae Seminar simultaneously, therefore, kindly let them know if you are interested.

Prior to the seminar all participants are required to carefully study the WTF Sparring Competition Rules and Interpretation. Proper dobuk and taekwondo shoes is mandatory; sparring equipment is optional.

The OTA would like to congratulate Grandmaster Tae Eun Lee and Grandmaster Young Su Choung, who will both be attending the 2012 WTF World Junior Taekwondo Championship in Egypt. Grandmaster Tae E. Lee will be attending the WTF Council and 23rd WTF General Assembly meetings in his capacity as Treasurer of the World Taekwondo Federation. Grandmaster Young S. Choung has been appointed as Team Manager of Team Canada. It is wonderful to see such important representation from Ontario on the world stage.

Taekwondo Canada has issued the attached memo to black belts in Canada. In case you did not see the memo, you can find it here. Please note Taekwondo Canada’s March 31, 2012 deadline.

The Required Poomsae to be performed at the SR Provincial Game 2 are as follows:

The SR Provincial game draws and fight numbers are now available. Please familiarize yourself with all noted rules and fight numbers.

Weigh in will be at Conestoga College on Saturday from 4-6 PM
First calls for matches 1 to 6 will be at 8:00 AM
Poomsae competition will commence at 8:30 AM

The Ontario Taekwondo Association is pleased to announce the Competitors for the Ontario Black Belt Senior Team Selection Tournament – Game 2 being held on March 25th, 2012 at Conestoga College. Please be reminded that all change requests must be received by the OTA at otatkdinfo@gmail.com no later than March 18th, 2012 9:00 PM.
