UPDATE: Sparring & Poomsae Training Camps – February 1-2, 2014

We are yet again pleased to announce that the OTA will be hosting our Sparring & Poomsae Training Camp for Colour and Black belts on,

February 1 & 2, 2014

There will be a cost of $15 for one day or $20 for two days to attend the camp and MUST register by January 30  by emailing the information below to Payment will be received at the venue from those with a confirmed registration. Space is limited therefore register early to secure your time slot. The OTA will confirm your registration. Please be reminded that all participants must be current OTA members.

Session 1: Saturday February 1, 2014

  1.  9:00 –  All Colour Belts
  2. 10:30 – Youth & Cadet Black Belts
  3. 12:30 – Junior & Senior Black Belts
  4. 3:00 – Poomsae – All Black Belts
  5. 5:30 – Daedo fights

Session 2: Sunday February 2, 2014

  1. 8:00 – Youth and Cadet Black Belts
  2. 10:00 – Junior and Senior Black Belts
  3. 12:30 – Poomsae – All Black Belts
  4. 3:00 – Daedo fights


2013-2014 Quest for Gold List of Ontario Card Nominations

The Ontario Taekwondo Association is pleased to announce the list of athletes and alternates who have been nominated for Ontario Cards under the 2013-2014 Quest for Gold – Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP). The athletes nominated were selected using the sport specific selection criteria developed by The Ontario Taekwondo Association, approved by its Board of Directors and applied by (the) Selection Committee.

Referee Seminar (Milton) – January 25, 2014

The OTA’s Referee Committee will be hosting a Referee Seminar on

January 25, 2014 (9am – 5pm)

JSC Taekwondo

Certification opportunities will be available for Poomsae & Kyorugi Competitions, Referee Class Upgrade (for eligible candidates) and Coaches Training (NCCP requirement)

It is a 2 day seminar; Day 1 – Theory & Day 2 – Practical Evaluation at an upcoming tournament. All applicants must be at least 13 years old, at least 2nd gup and a good standing member of the OTA.

Prior to the seminar all participants are required to carefully study the WTF Sparring Competition Rules and Interpretation. Proper dobuk and taekwondo shoes is mandatory; sparring equipment is optional.
